For Bank On certification in North Idaho and the opportunity to set up a checking account, program participants must complete two financial education classes in sequence totaling approximately four hours.
Description of the classes:
Financial Literacy Part 1: covers Bank On It and Check On It- Learn your way around banks and credit unions and how to use a checking account responsibly (90-120 minutes).
Financial Literacy Part 2: covers Money Matters and Pay Yourself First- Learn how to manage money by preparing a personal spending plan and identifying ways to decrease expenses and increase income. Then learn options for saving money and moving toward financial independence (90-120 minutes). Prerequisite: Financial Literacy Part 1
